Just to let you know---------Triple Crown races are for THREE year olds.
They do race as two year olds, but not in the Triple Crown.

However, I agree with what you're saying.   In order to race at two, the
poor things are broken to ride as long yearlings!  No wonder it's so unusual
for a horse to race past age 4, and TB's have such a bad reputation for
breaking down physically.  (The ones who make it off the track to go on to
other careers such as jumping are normally the ones who didn't race well.)

I absolutely support the age rule for CDE horses also.
