[dokuwiki] recent changes doesn't show anything

Hi,
I've got the default 20 in the local.php file for recent changes but
for no matter what page I go to in my wiki, I can't seem to see any
recent changes.
Any ideas what that is?
Is there something else other then local.php that needs to be done
that I over looked?
