Hey Chris you can get the PRO 40 for around $500 (or $470 at ZZounds) if you
have them price match you B&H photo's $480 price tag. This 1 has 8 physical
ins, adat input (for adding upto 8 more channels), SPDIF in/out, and 10
physical outputs, including 2 headphone lines.
It's also a rack unit, comes with novation's BassStation, bunch of loops
(site+ pack). I still haven't really hooked mine up, but it looks like a
solid piece of equipment. Don't forget there's also the 26, which I believe
is in beetween the 14 and the 40.

As for computers, I've been fixing them and building them for myself and
others since i was like 10! Experience comes a long way...

I believe it. He certainly knows a lot more than I do about processors.

BTW, I bought the Saffire Pro 14 at Long and McQuade for around $300.
It looks like a big square rack mount that sits on my desk. It has its own
independent control pannel called Saffire Mix Control. It also comes with
some pluggins including Ableton Live LE soft synthe which I haven't tried
yet.
Bob.
