Hi Raymond, the soundblaster is always going to be a problem in Sonar,
especially when recording. if you really want great results out of plug ins,
and sorts you'll need to get your self a higher end sound cards like the
M-audio Delta66, or Delta audio file sound card also made by m-audio.--

I'm using the Cakewalk TTS1 as the synth and I think a Sound blaster live
as my sound card. I sent this problem before, and I got a suggestion about
the latancy or something like that. No matter where I set it, I get little
to no difference. If I'm practicing a track before I record, it works
fine, it's just when recording.
Raymond

I have that same problem in Sonar. Every time I press a note when
recording, the keyboard is so sluggish that notes go way off-beet and
it's sluggish.
What software synth and soundcard are you using?
