Annabelle,

I won't belabor the point that Windows is a multi-tasking system that allows
you to have two things running on the same computer at the same time.

And recording an audio project while typing notes in a simple notepad will
cause no problems. All you do is switch between one window and the other.
Same display, same keyboard, same speakers, same fingers.

Nice to have two separate automobiles, but not if parking your old 1965
Rambler in the same garage as your 2011 Ferrari causes it to start rusting.

Please don't ask me about the metaphors I used above. Those are models of
automobiles that I'm using as examples.

Okay, so I did belabor the point, after all.

Dave Carlson
From my Dell Latitude 630.

Yes. And, I like to keep my documents separate from my music, so that's why
I have two machines. It may seem confusing to you, but it works fine for me.

Like DJX says, until you get Windows and Jaws to not use the Motu
and Sonar to use the Motu exclusively, you're going to have issues.

Regarding note taking, why are you using a second computer for
this? Why not just open up Notepad on the DAW, and ALT+TAB to it
when you want to make a note of something? Are you writing a novel
while simultaneously recording music?
