All I know is that the Unicode font manager is on the Iyonix - dunno if it is in any ROSL product.
Martin - it'd be a funny character that had more than 256 holes in it (aero font?) - again from experience it is just the number of elements - points if you like that counts.
I'd be interested to know by how far the characters are missing the limit, do they have 257 paths or 2570 paths.
Another automatic technique might be to split the characters into halves.
Ot maybe we can get the source code from RISC OS Open and change a constant value, rebuild, etc.
