I think you may be looking for the wrong things in the books. I think The
Picture of Dorian Grey is one of the best books that I've read. Something like
that stays with you for a long time afterwards. You don't read Percy Jackson,
or the Wilbur Smith or Lee Childs books for the inspiration/talking points. I
read them in the same way I watch a mindless action film or a comedy - for the
sheer fun of them. In terms Percy being childish, well, the target audience for
the books is kids...

Also, fantasy books specialise in not being original. They don't have
characters. They have classes, or at best, tropes. A wizard (poor magic use,
but GREAT potential) meets a paladin (stoic), a dwarf (with a Scottish accent),
an elf (aloof) and maybe a rogue/thief (comic relief). They all go off on a
quest. Hijinks ensue. The big bad is defeated. The poor, underappreciated main
character makes it big.

Maybe it's not my taste :/ adventuring kids never interested me so much
(however, there are some exceptions.)...maybe it's the lore design and
character isn't as solid or original. It's boring because i don't feel inspired
or have much to talk about after. It's more like "oh cool...okay." done feeling
:/

Read only the first one, but read the rest in summarised form because i wasn't
interested in the series as much,

You can get through a Percy Jackson book quicker than the movie. I don't see
how a book that takes you that little time to read can be qualified as boring.
Also if you have a good knowledge of the myths behind the stuff, then there is
added humour for them.

How many of the Percy Jackson books have you read?

Yeah, between Diablo, FF and Hearthstone, I'm not really getting around to much
else. Need to get FF13-3 finished at some point.
