Did the CPR swap road power on the Vermont line through freights
at Newport? I was under the impression that all road power on both the
through freights and through passenger trains worked through between
Montreal and WRJ (or Boston or sometimes Woodsville in the case of
the "Alouette" when it still operated via the Plymouth line). I
thought Newport only serviced some of the switchers and road switchers
based there as well as the E-8 on the Newport passenger local (before
it was cut back to Sutton of course).
