Script first appeared in 1963.
I agree with Rob on paints. Scalecoat from CN sig are good.

Hi this is my first time post. I am an engineer for CP in Medicine Hat
with 31 years of service. I am getting into N scale railroading and
naturally have chosen CP in the very early 60's and earlier.
I am not sure if there is any model railroaders here but I was
wondering when Canadian Pacific started using script writing on the
sides of their rolling stock. I also want to paint some brass engines
in the old maroon and grey paint scheme. Is there any off the shelf
suppliers of hobby paint that would closely match these colors.
