This takes up ten spaces, I like the system I use as it only takes up seven
at the most. This can be critical when you have limited space and I have
some computer programs where adding one space in a field is not as easy as
it sounds.

ISO's (International Standards Organization) standard is YYYY/MM/DD. Today
is therefore 2012/10/01. You will therefore see this reporting much more
often.
