You are joking, of course. Think about it. The number of log hauls in the
19th century would have been staggering and rail was the prime way of
logs in those day where rivers and lakes or horses were not handy ortrains if
practical. I doubt if anyone knows when the first log train operated or

So, what's wrong with tracing the 19th century antecedents of unit
that's a subject that interests people here and it might go onindefinitely?
The last time I checked this was the Yahoo group of the Canadian Pacific
