Hi
Thanks everyone for the input. I think that when I will do CP or Soo Line
passenger coaches I won't feed do bad about their different tones of "maroon".
I did some Soo Line using tuscan Red from Accupaint and they came out sort of a
lighter colour. (not on purposse but the colour was fine by me. I stopped
painting as I wanted them to be different thant my CPR coaches.
I would say that to lighten the Maroon without changing it's colour could be
done by dilluting the colour an extra percentage and/or by using a white
undercoat and less of the maroon.
Years ago I painted a Stewart F-7 Soo Line Maroon using Accupaint tuscan red
and grey primer. I must have put 5 or 6 coats. the maroon came out a rich
colour with depth and richness that drew very positive comments. It is still
great even after 10 years.
That was the loco the hobby shop owner wanted to show in his window.
Thanks everyone again
Pierre
