Gushing or not, may we not sell the materially important value of
Haitian literature. Let us not forget that in Haiti from before the
revolution, during it and afterward to the present that Haitian
literature accedes to a position far beyond any sentimentality. Some of
the most powerfully active words in the political and economic life of
Haiti have been presented by its writers. Some of them lived shortened
lives as a result. Gushes restore the thirsty.
