Yes, unfortunately nearly everything pays better than comics (Film and TV,
video games, advertising) unless you have a royalty deal on a super hot book,
like the Image guys did when they were at Marvel in the early 90’s. Otherwise,
working in comics is a labor of love.

movie especially if you have tweens to watch it with) and the creature in THE
SHAPE OF WATER.
And if, like me, you enjoy free-standing comic book series (not dependent on
crossovers, etc.) the work of Davis on BPRD, SANDMAN MYSTERY THEATRE, and
UNSTABLE MOLECULES (Fantastic Four) is superb, and they are all great reads.
