You just check off a box at the bottom when you load and it ends up double
listed in the illustration exchange. For those o us who collect older art and
especially strip art it makes it a lot easier to inlcude art by artists who
worked in both fields. This ranges from Dan Smith and James Montgomery Flagg
who worked in strips and illustration to more modern artists. When I wrote the
Men's adventure book and did the artist section I soon discovered that a whole
lot of comic book artists in the late 1950's moved into men's adventure
illustration as the comic book market imploded. And DocV did an amazing book on
Jack Kirby's and Simons work in other Goodman owned media.
So it is silly to limit the scope to just one tight definition - folks are
commercial artists and work in a lot of media

Besides Illustration is now a component of CAF including a lot of work by
illustrators who did not work in comics (and while there is a lot of crossover
there are also many who worked solely in illustration.) George

Hi Mark:
James Martin worked with Neal Adams at Continuity Studios. So unless all art
by comic artists that was not done for a comic book is barred, this is art by a
comic book artist.

On December 21st I contacted James and sent along photo reference for this
possible commission. James responded positively and enthusiastically right
away: "Absolutely! Could do something really special with that! May get to this
one sooner than later! ;)" By December 31st the commission was completed and it
was mailed right after the New Year's holiday, arriving here January 13th.
This lovely commission is 11" x 14".
