I actually did licensing work for the Vatican a bunch of years back. They
have a really good program to commercialize the various pieces of art and
literature.

I guess we all know what comics are, really, but I believe the important thing
is not to worry too much about the definitions and just enjoy looking at it. I
never quite figured the ticking-the-extra-box bit, I’ll have to start doing
that for illustration. i have recently acquired a couple of Vargas pieces, for
example, which i presume could go into both but if i decided to put them on
line, i’d use CAF.

I think it’s perfectly ok to put any sorta-related art on CAF. Everyone can
choose what to look at. I mean, it’s up the Bill in the end and the ‘rules’ for
Caf and the ‘rules’ for this list (do we even have any since we moved service?
Alex is the king of that question!) aren’t the same thing. But whereas I know
some collectors/list-members might see only published comic book art as
‘viable’, many, I’d say most, have less tight boundaries and are happy with
sketches, commissions, illustration art, book covers….hell, if someone here
bought a Rembrandt or part of the Sistine Chapel, and wanted to put that up,
I’d be happy to look….
