These are excellent suggestions. I do think we need to be more intentional
about what mentoring will require, and what we need to do to provide it.
Not all cases provide complex legal issues - in fact, probably most don't.
Experience is the kind of thing that one can acquire, not only because the
issue presents itself on the case I am now working on, but also by having
one's
antenna up while other people are discussing their cases in groups like you
propose, on listserves, which really are an excellent place to learn about the
exact issues that attorneys in your own community are grappling with on a
regular basis.
