One thing I tried was to format it in a Panasonic DVR I have, which takes DVD RAM discs. This didn't make any practical difference, though. Having done that, I then discovered the Tools > Show medium information, which I hadn't noticed before. Strangely, I see that both the disc I formatted and a new one out of the box both say "DVD-RAM, formatted" under "Medium type" so perhaps these come pre-formatted? The other boxes contain also exactly the same info. These are Panasonic "DVD-RAM DISC (NON-CARTRIDGE) 3XSPEED" from Currys. But CDFS filer reports either "CD-ROM drive empty" or "CDFS does not support that type of disc" when I click on the drive icon whichever I try. Is it a different CDFS module that is required, perhaps?
