You would think that disabling Auto Open the ATC Window in FSX General settings
would work, but that doesn’t appear to be the case on my install. PF3 is nice
though, and once I have the hang of it, flying should be much better.

Jordan,
I’m running Jaws 17. I have no idea why it seems to say this reliably, but it
does. Of course, we can’t actually read the menu without OCR, but it’s still
nice to have confirmation one way or the other.
I thought it should be possible to decide to not open the ATC menu at startup,
at least.

What version of Jaws are you running? Jaws 16 only seems to say blank just as
SA does.

Hi Jordan,
Actually, Jaws does say “ATC menu,” when I hav it open, I’ve noticed. I’m not
sure why the others don’t seem to.
Best,
Zack.

I wish there was a way to permanently have the FS ATC window closed since none
of the screen readers tell you when it is open or closed.

Make sure to close the ATC window first, or the key presses won’t go through.

Forgot about that. Going to pull up the hot keys list again and try this again.

Jordan,
The ProFlight mode for IYP was never really completed, as far as I know. You’ll
have to use the keyboard commands to interact with it. Fortunately, they’re
very well-documented in the PF3 manual.
Best,
Zack.

I followed all the instructions in the IYP PFE documentation, and I clearly
have done something incorrectly. IYP clearly is not seeing PF3 because no
commands are working. For example, I was just trying to get IFR clearance, and
all I would get out of Michelle was Are you Crazy or something like that. I am
pretty sure it is not a PF3 problem because I can hear the voice I selected as
well as ATC and other aircraft if I use the keyboard to get tuned to the ground
frequency. Any ideas here?
Thanks,
