Area Birders, While checking bluebird boxes here on Compton Mt this morning, I heard the first HOODED WARBLER of the season. He wasn't doing the complete call, but enough for an ID. When I was learning warblers I came up with a mnemonic for the Hooded Warbler song. It was "Djou eat, djou eat, djou eat this year", which is a shortened version of "Did you eat, did you eat, did you eat this year." It worked well for me, and it seems to work well for beginning birders that I have told about it. The bird I heard this morning was saying only the last part, "djou eat this year". Enjoy the birds, Roger Mayhorn Compton Mt Buchanan County VA ************************************************* BRISTOL BIRDS NET LIST Bristol Birds Net Photo Gallery located at: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jwcoffeyy/album?.dir=/efd5 This is a regional birding list sponsored by the Bristol Bird Club to facilitate communications between birders and bird clubs of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. -------------------------------------------------- You are subscribed to Bristol-Birds.
