The bird was still there on Sunday. It was seen twice by my wife, Jane:
once in the morning and again in the early afternoon.

Saturday, Jan. 1, Jerry Thornhill and myself had a Great Egret on the
Blackford (Russell County, VA) CBC.
We saw it twice during the day, along side US Hwy 18 between the Elk Garden
School and Rosedale.
