Hi Monica! I am willing to try my hand at validating. I am not sure what is expected, but I will try to help-out. I prefer fiction, paranormals, romantic suspense...I admit it, I am a book addict. *L* I do not like non-fiction or Christian books, however. Let me know how I can go about helping-out...I am new at this. Bookshare Has Been Invaded! Fellow Booksharians, your help is needed to respond to a massive invasion. We're dealing with a motley crew of lovers, detectives, aliens, wizards, soldiers, murderers, terrorists, faeries, cowboys, and mad scientists. An astounding 442 books have invaded our step 1 page, refusing to give quarter until validation occurs. Indeed, a regiment of dedicated volunteers is working at an astonishing pace, adding to the number of books found on step 1. Now Bookshare needs a batalian of book lovers who will take up their validating tools and conquer this invasion. If you're signed up as a volunteer, will you please take a book that interests you and validate it over the next couple of weeks? If we work together, we can move these books into the Bookshare collection where they belong. If you haven't done any volunteering, this is a perfect time to give it a try. All you need to validate a book is a love of reading and a program to use for proofreading a document such as Microsoft Word, Kurzweil, or Openbook. Volunteers receive help and training both on the lists and one on one in the Bookshare community room. You don't have to be a computer expert to be a great volunteer. If you're ready to give it a try, email volunteer@xxxxxxxxxxxxx to ask the Bookshare staff to set you up as a volunteer. That's your first step toward actively making Bookshare better.
