I have said this already. I did not transfer it from one computer to the other. The two hard drives were and are in the same computer. It is a fujitsu laptop, and technically all the data should work There was no change of computers unless the data got corrupted on the old drive or something, in which case I should be able torepair it.

Simon,Something got hosed somewhere. As Loius suggests, run repair with the Windows cd. That may or may not work. The two computers may be alike but are they *exactly* alike other than the hard drive? My guess is no.*---* *---* *---* *---* *---* You can't tell which way the train went by looking at the tracks.
