Hi Shell and list:

The Book port can accept Braille characters both for searching through text files and for writing notes. You use computer Braille to do it. The Braille keyboard is achieved by rotating the book port 90 degrees from the nomral operating position. This gives you three rows of six keys rather than six rows of three that you have in the normal operating position.

Don't be put off by the mention of computer Braille. If you know Braille already, you already know the letters incomputer Braille. You can see a full explanation of this in the bookport manual, which you can read on the APH web site until you have a bookport of your own to experience. The manual is a very useful tool.

Cheers,
Dave
