Ok, I did what you suggested. I did that for a few authors, in fact, and I moved some files around, and so far, my fingers are crossed, its working. (Although it did this off and on before, so I'll wait a while and see.)

thanks so much, I think you solved my problem, and I can once again read trillions of books...ok, not that many, but you get the picture. One thing I sure hope this product does, the book port 2 anyway, is retain its battery life. I love the fact that when I go on a long trip, I have no need of a battery charger, extra batteries (I bring some more, though, just in case), but it sure does live up to its name, 60 hours of battery life. I love, and will always love, this unit. I'm attached to it, kind of like I was with the braille lite. Its so portable, it don't look flashy, but who cares? Its got a long battery life, I've got a fondness for the speech, don't ask why, and those cf cards are just so tiny nobody should need to complain about not being able to store enough files on the thing. Not to mention that there clip on the back. I use it a lot and its really sturdy, not like some other ones I used and they broke off not too long after I started using them (this headset, for example, the clip broke on the volume control/mute switch about the second time I used it). What else? Hmmm, well, uh, I can't say anything about USB, though using a card reader helps a lot if I don't need to index files or am just wanting to back the thing up. Etc. Sorry for going a bit off topic, I just hope the next unit aph produces is as good as this one.
Have a good day from Tyler C. Wood!

You could use Windows Explorer. It doesn't really matter, though. You have to connect the Bookport anyway to put the folder you have created on the BP. Connect your Bookport. In BP Transfer, tab to where you hear: "Bookport files." Cursor up or down. Press enter when you get to your Stephen King folder. Open Windows Explorer. Cursor to the folder you just created... lets call it Stephen King1. Press the applications key. Arrow either up or down to: "Send to submenu." Enter on that. You should hear: "Send to Bookport." Press enter. The subfolder will be placed in the Stephen King folder. You will save a little battery life doing it this way.

If you want to create the folder using BP Transfer, let me know.

Sure. Create the Stephen King1 folder, or whatever you choose to call it within your King folder itself. You have to connect your BP to do this. If you don't know how to create folders while the Bookport is connected, just ask. Now disconnect your BP. Go to the first book you want to move to the new folder. Don't open it. Just press the star and pound keys at the same time. The BP will say, "Move." Now open your newly created folder. Press star, zero, and pound at the same time. You should hear, "File moved." Even though you have to move one file at a time, you should be good to go using this method. Remember, you can always create folders within folders within folders, come to that. This helps to keep you organized. If you don't organize, when you put a lot of books on your 2GB card, you won't be able to find anything!

Hi, all

So, heres my problem.
Sandy suggested that I have a max of 30 files in each folder. So, for example, I have 40 books in the stephen king folder. Could I do something like this? Can I create new folders then copy perhaps 20 or so books from the orriginal stephen king folder to that folder, calling it stephen king 1, or some such? It may save memory, but I'm using a 2 gb card just because it was lieing around, and I love having lots of reading material so, why not? Btw the other reason is so if I don't have the book port at hand, if I somehow forget it, I can use this pavillion to read books in the html, txt, doc, etc etc format.

thanks!
Tyler
