I am speaking of a card, not a cable. A card goes in one of the PCI slots inside your computer.
Rob Meredith
Isn't that the type of cable that is supplied?metalhead1009000@xxxxxxxxx 04/07/06 11:14AM >>>

The book Port probably isn't going to work on that computer withoutup.PCI to USB card. This happens sometimes.

Since your Book Port works on other computers, but not that one,we need to know if it shows up as a drive letter under WindowsExploreror My Computer? Also, make sure that any scanners or other USBdevicesare not running at the same time.

I have the same situation.
Windows used to recognize my BP as a removable disk, but after I installed a sandisc card reader, it hasn't come back, although thecomputer list in Windows Explorer shows an extra number of items inthestilllist.
Rob Meredith has told me that as long as the transfer program launches, it doesn't matter. So, while I miss not seeing BP, itworks just fine and I can move stuff around if I wish by justputtingthe CF card in the card reader. Which I find I'm doing less andless.miker1988@xxxxxxx

I've completely uninstalled norton, this didn't help. I also rebooted the computer and got the same result.
