For the record, each beep represents 12.5% of the file having been successfully transferred. In the case of books like Audible book files, there's a lot of pre-processing that has to take place and the beeps represent 12.5% of that pre-processing, then they start over again when the actual transfer begins. Each beep (as you'll notice especially when transferring a text file, when they come really fast) is higher than the one before, meaning that the process is getting that much closer to completion. You can find out the status at any time by looking at the window title (JAWS Key+T in JAWS). ----- Original Message ----- From: <chasec@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 6:22 PM Subject: [bookport] Re: bookport Digest V3 #259 Hi. Even if you are sending a small text file or a large .mp3 file, it doesn't really make a differents. The eight beeps are normal. They are just status of the sending process. But don't be mad if you don't know what they mean, because I don't eather! But it is normal. Even tho they drive me crazy. I think it should talk and say, "ten persent" and so on. Oh well I normaly just walk away! Just don't wory about the beeps. Chase
