Wait till the book has been stopped. You want to do it in idle mode, so it's
the last key stroke pressed before changing the battery. You have about 30
seconds.

Should I do this while listening to the book, or when the bp is off? Does it
matter when I press d, e and f?

Hi! It should work if you hold down the d, e and f keys for a couple of
seconds. The bookport will beep, and then it will remember whre you left off in
your book. I know this works because I do it all the time, and have never lost
my place in the book I was listening to. I hope this helps, and that you're
