That's been my experience, too, even when I forgot to press D+E+F and had the defaults restored. As long as you press the 2 key to stop reading, the book's associated file is updated with the point at which you stopped reading, so you should never lose your place. As with any electronics equipment, you should never remove power to the device when it is actually running or, as in the BP's case, playing. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Yerba Bruja Sent: Friday, October 12, 2007 8:00 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: battery replacement That's strange. When I replace batteries, upon opening a specific book I find myself in the place where I was at prior to needing the battery change. But what you can do is press the last keys de e and f simultaneously prior to changing the battery and that will save your settings. Marta
