Thank you to Larry, Rob, and Neal. Files are successfully being downloaded
and transferred to the Book Port. A superb piece of equipment with great
software support!

That command sends only the text of the web page. What you have to do to
get the mp3 file to Book Port is first download the mp3 file.

There are a couple of ways to do that. The easiest is to install ipodder
and have it automatically download the files for you.

Shourt of that, you can press enter on the link of interest which will open
Media Player. pause the playback and use the Save As command to save the
mp3 file.

You can also right click on the link on the web page to save it to disc.

Hi Rob,

Here is what is happening. I have Book Port transfer up and running.
I
then find a file, such as from tech/bct.htm, and choose the applications
menu. From this menu I select Send to Book Port. I almost immediately hear
a low note and then a note up one octave and then some other tones. I look
on the Book Port and find the text of the Web page but not the file I have
tried to send to Book Port.

Obviously, I am doing something wrong? Any clearer?

Alan:

I guess I don't understand your problem. What is happening or not happening?
If you just select any compatible file in Book Port Transfer and press
Enter, does it send to the Book Port? Do you hear the musical scale?

Alan:

What happens when you connect the Book Port to the computer? Does Book Port
Transfer open?

Hi,

As a new BP user, I am having some difficulties transferring files to my
Bookport. I have tried highlighting the files, some of Larry's podcasts,
while the BP was connected and choosing Send to Bookport; I have tried while
bookport was disconnected and then connecting bookport. Either way, nothing
appears to get sent to the little machine. Of course, as a new user I may
well be doing some things incorrectly so would appreciate any ideas anyone
may have.
