Does your computer's operating system conform to all Book Port's system
requirements? If you're running Windows 2000 that wouldn't seem to be an
issue, but I had odd glitches in various adaptive products until finally
upgrading to XP. Again, with 2000 one wouldn't think this transfer problem
could be attributable to incompatibility, but it would be interesting if you
could test things out on an XP-equipped computer. Here are all the system
requirements listed in the user's manual for Book Port, for what it might be
worth. About the only thing I know for sure about computers is that you can
always, always, always expect the unexpected, and problems sometimes have
the oddest solutions!
Book Port requires the following minimal system: List of 5 items . PC with USB connections . Windows Me, 2000, XP, or later . CD-ROM drive . At least 64 MB RAM . 15 MB free hard disc space list end
Hoping you can get to the bottom of this, David Bennett
Jerry, etc.,
I agree with you that the message is odd and sounds like a FILE message, so
my thought would be what you've already heard. If the other suggestion of
doing a send to on the directory doesn't work, you might try putting one
simple text file in the pending directory and the identical file in a
directory and see if it moves one and not the other.
Sorry you're having all this trouble. Ron

Luann,
With Windows Explorer set to display hidden folders, there are none. There
was a file with a .css extension, which I deleted. Still no luck in sending
the directory to the Bookport.
I continue to wonder about this error message: File filter not found for this file type
All of the files in this folder are from Bookshare. I have had no problem
transferring the files, in the directory, to the Book Port. The problem
seems to be with the transfer of the directory, or folder, itself.
Hmmm.

Maybe there are files in the folder, even hiden ones, that the Book Port doesn't support. Otherwise I don't know why that would happen, since I've transfored folders successfully this way myself.
