Paula, There are lots of options out there. Check at www.etronics.com Or www.circuitcity.com Just do a search for portable speaker I have a little unit made by Creative that I got on sale for $39 after rebates, but that offer isn't available any longer, and although they = sound terrific, I don't think they are worth $69 which is their regular price. Panasonic makes 2 or 3 models that also sound very good. I have one of = the Panasonic models that I also use from time to time that I Paid $29 for. These are of a folding design and they sound great considering their = size. Unfortunately, I can't recall the model number of the Panasonic set I = have, but I am pretty sure that both Circuit City and Etronics carries it. = HTH Best regards, =20 Rick Alfaro ralfaro@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx = [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Paula Mack Sent: Monday, July 26, 2004 12:56 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] External speaker for use with the Bookport Hi listers, I'm seriously considering buying a Bookport, but I have only one reservation, so thought I'd ask those of you who are already using the bookport for input. Right now, I do most of my reading whether from Bookshare, Web Braille, = or any other type of file that is in a format that can be accessed, with my M20. For some reason, i don't like reading on the PC. I guess I like = the idea of being able to move around, and of course with the M20, you've = got access to Braille if you want to read that way. So, here is my = question: I know that the bookport has no internal speaker, and of course, for times when we are travelling, that is fine. However, I can't see myself = sitting at home with my feet up relaxing with a pair of headphones or earbuds = on. For me, they are usable, but not comfortable. So, what kind of options = are available in terms of external speakers that can be used with the = bookport. Thanks, Paula Mack
