I think you're right, and given that MicroSoft has announced that as of July
this year they will no longer support Windows '98 and Windows ME it would seem
to be time for anyone with a Win '98 machine or Windows ME to consider
upgrading their Windows or their computer.

: Seems to me that I remember seeing something from one of the APH folks that
: this isn't possible, but I'm sure one of them will confirm or deny. I do
: know that the transfer software won't run in Windows 9X. This is from the
: manual and as it says "Book Port" and not specifically the transfer program,
: I think that it's quite likely the answer:
:
: Book Port requires the following minimal system:
:
: . PC with USB connections
: . Windows Me, 2000, XP, or later
: . CD-ROM drive
: . At least 64 MB RAM
: . 15 MB free hard disc space

:
:
: I have plugged my BP into a USB port on an old Windows 98 machine. I want
: to use the BP as an external storage device.
: Windows 98 can't find a driver for it on it's hard drive. The machine
: doesn't have access to the internet. So, I want to find a device driver
: using my Windows XP machine, copy it to a cd and use this to install it on
: my 98 machine.
:
: Is this possible? Where can I find an appropriate device driver?
:
: Thanks.
