Hi Rob I have a bookport and I currently have the Stream on loan. I consider it is of interest to bookport users to discuss it relative to similar devices. Also I would hope that the developers of Bookport 2 will take note of what users like or dislike about the Stream compared to the current bookport. I was particularly interested in the builtin speaker in the Stream. However, the speaker is a big disappointment. It is tinny and has a very low maximum volume, you need to be in a quiet room and within about a metre of it to hear it. The Stream is of similar size and weight to the bookport, I expected it to be more compact and lighter. It is no faster to transfer files by usb than the current bookport despite the Stream claiming to have usb 2. So you need to use a fast card reader to transfer files. Unlike the bookport the Stream does not retain your place in an mp3 file when you step to another mp3 file in the same book and back again. The only significant advantage of the Stream I have found so far is that it has speed and pitch control during playback of mp3 files. I hope Bookport 2 has a decent builtin speaker.
