Iain,
Out of interest. Which Norton product are you using. And which version is it? Thanks.
Bruce.

Katie,
I just lost a long email I drafted you because my PC hung. Here is a summary of my findings.
a) It's not a firewall issue on my PC. Clicking on the Online/View
Available
File button brings up a "Symantec Event Manager wants to act as a server"
query. I have Norton Antivirus installed but not their Firewall. I suspect
it could be people with Symantec software installed who are affected.
2) I could only get the bible list if I updated my firmeare again. I had done this a week or two ago and was surprised to find another firmeare upgrade tonight.
3) Trying to transfer files to the BC with Freedom Scientific's Magic
running hangs my PC. I have reported this to FS but perhaps you could tell
them too.
4) Transferring the King James Bible resulted in a file on my BC called "WEBNCV01". Not a very helpful name.

Everyone,
It sounds as though a firewall issue may be preventing the broadband users from accessing the Bibles. However, the Transfer Tool uses the same facility to check for updates as it does to display the list of Bibles. So, if you can perform the check for updates function to update the BookCourier firmware then you should be able to access the Bibles. Presumably, all of the broadband users have updated their Transfer Tools and performed a check for updates. For all those experiencing the Bible access problem, I'd be interested to know if you had difficulties with the check for updates.
Thanks, Katie

I had a look and can view 4 entries. I did not download any. People may need to look at their firewalls. Cheers. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Katie Walker" <katie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bookcourier@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, January 26, 2006 2:24 AM Subject: [bookcourier] Re: Online web content
Hi everyone,
So far I know of two people (Mike and Frank) who are having trouble accessing the Bibles on our web site. I'm curious to know if anyone has successfully viewed the list Bibles and then downloaded one or more.
Thanks, Katie

I've seen other messages about difficulty communicating with the
internet from the Transfer Tool; I'm having similar difficulty. I'm
using Broadband, and its working OK. If I click on Available Files, the
PC just freezes up except that I am able to exit with alt-F4, but I get
the "program is not responding" message, and the error reporting
facility comes up.
Any help welcome, with thanks,
Mike
