Who would have thought meadowlarks would be so controversial!? But it’s
nice we’re talking. BirdNote podcast recently had a blurb on them. Loss of
grasslands and farmland, where they thrive, to development. That should
make for an interesting wedge issue, the suggestion of late was a
fracturing of the suburban-rural coalition (though likely just want those
analysts want rather than based in measurable reality). I’ll look forward
to meadowlarks becoming a central issue to presidential platforms. 😜

Yawl would probably not enjoy Venezuela, North Korea, or Cuba. Sweden

When I asked a second cousin, once removed, in Croatia if people missed
socialism, he responded that only the communists do. The once poor village
by the sea has become a prosperous place since the country abandoned
socialism. A cousin suggested that I move “home”. Its tempting. See
