One of my problems in discussing personalities such as Putin, or even
Donald Trump, is the fact that my impressions are seen through the
eyes of others, mostly. Even Donald Trump. Remember, what we hear
from his tweets and his 15 second voice clips, is all surface veneer,
allowing us to see and hear only what others decide we should have.
My rule of thumb is to begin with the notion that all of us are human
beings and that we all have certain similarities. So when I am
presented with an image of the Devil with horns and bat wings and a
pitchfork, I'm immediately wary. Perhaps this individual is a
controlling murderer, or perhaps he is just doing what all world
leaders seem to feel they need to do. That is, control and murder.
Including our American Empire Leader, it appears that controlling the
people is a basic requirement. Controlling the nations around us is
also a requirement. Keeping some nations at arms length and murdering
some of their people in order to make our point, is on the required
list. Shutting down internal opposition is important, so loud mouthed
journalists must be quieted. Mexico crime cartel does it the old
fashioned way...kill them. But here in our advanced nation, we
threaten and harass them, and if that doesn't work we charge them with
crimes full of gobble dee gook and toss them in prison.
Did we think of Barack Obama the same way we are told to see Vladimir
Putin? What about all our noble leaders from FDR forward? I say FDR
because he was the president when I entered the world, but we could go
on back. Isn't there blood on the hands of all these men? And would
Hillary Clinton bring a "woman's touch" to the president's office? Of
course not. So we go about cursing the world leaders we are told to
curse, and hating the mean spirited people of nations we are told to
hate, without ever stopping to notice that if we looked in the mirror
we would see ourselves in their place. But hey! Isn't it easier and
quicker, too if we just grab up our trusty old musket and head out to
murder those who dare to think or look different than us?

influenced by what the mainstream media have told you. That's why they were
so angry at a film maker who was willing to buck the tide. The fact is that
we all think that we know what is going on because we hear stuff or read
stuff. But our information is so very limited. Every day, I learn facts
about things that happened in the past that I didn't know, or things about
subjects that I thought I knew, but I only had a superficial view. Here's
one thought I just had. Which autocrat was it to whom we sent people
captured from Afghanistan and surrounding areas to be tortured? Was it to
Putin, this terrible person whom we say is like Stalin? No. We sent them to
Syria. Think about that. We want to get rid of the leader of that country,
but we thought it was just fine to send prisoners there to be tortured.

Once again, Parry writes an informative article here. Sad how our Wall
Stream media seems bent on painting things in a simplistic good guy VS. bad
guy style. No doubt about it, the US and NATO must share in the blame for
the unrest in Ukraine and the Crimea.
But, do be cautious when saying that Putin appears human. Never do forget
the negative aspects of being human. Like Stalin before him, those who
oppose Putin have a way of disappearing. Stalin's weapon of choice was
either a gun or a one-way trip to Siberia while Putin's weapon of choice
seems to be poison. Then again, the American weapons of choice range from
the use of CIA and special forces operators to the drone. Any whay you look
at it, we humans have a long way to go and when it comes to violence, we're
still headed in the wrong direction.
