Miriam, there is an principle known as confirmation bias. That means we tend to
listen to the information that fits and confirms our own particular biases.
Certainly you can choose a selection of podcasts to listen to that confirm to
you that there is a working class revolution at hand. Of course someone else
could choose a selection that confirms that there is a white nationalist
revolution at hand, or an African American revolution at hand or a zombie
apocalypse at hand for that matter. I work with the general public and rarely
come across anyone who isn't a hardcore Trump supporter, and yes even
minorities are seduced by the "reality" show fluff mister.

Carl,
If you were listening to podcasts, you'd be amazed how many people are out
there organizing, not only for Bernie, but for a working class revolution. It's
incredible, the variety of folks who have been working for him and the numbers
of people they reach via these podcasts. Today, I listened to a podcast called,
"Madness" which is presented by Stephen Risner, and described as the podcast
where psychology confronts capitalism. He's the psychologist who stopped the
American Psychological Association from supporting the psychologists who were
running the torture program for the CIA. Anyway, I've heard it only a few times
and it has always focused on human behavior in relation to current events. But
at the beginning of today's episode, Risner said that last week he'd been with
the Bernie Sanders campaign in Iowa. As I said, you'd be amazed. The two young
crazy people who do the Trueanon podcast and who describe themselves as
Leninists or Marxists and say, specifically, that they aren't Democrats,
support Sanders. But so does Michael Moore who supports Sanders, but will vote
for any Democrat in order to defeat Trump and who tries to find something nice
to say about every Democratic candidate.
As for Venezuela, the fact is that Maduro is the elected President and that the
person whom the Republicans and Democrats are calling the President, has no
elected position at all at this point. The mass of people, who are poor,
support the government. The opposition is split in two with its far right being
supported by the US and being willing to support a coup. But the rest of the
opposition are middle class and wealthy people who do not want US
interference.
As far as I'm concerned, the big problem with Bernie is that he accepts most of
our country's foreign policy. That vote on gun control was very political. But
he's usually good on domestic issues. The real reason to vote for him is to
provide an opening for the left to organize and to stop this neo liberal train
wreck.

Well Frank, I doubt there is a true Working Class candidate in the entire apple
barrel. But I've listened to Bernie Sanders for years when Thom Hartmann had
him on every week with his, "Brunch with Bernie" hour. Bernie has been
consistent. My biggest issue with him is his going soft on the munition
industry. My other issue is that without a strong left wing Democratic
solidarity Bernie's chances of making any social gains will be next to
impossible. But to support the likes of Joe or even Elizabeth, is to disable
any hope of reform.
Actually, I believe the Trumpsters have ripped the fabric of democracy and left
our Republic in it's most vulnerable position. Four more years of Donald Trump
could leave the USA in the same place as is Brazil. But to put a wishy washy
Democrat in office will spell the end of our American Constitution. Look at
what has happened in Venezuela.
With a Corporate Capitalist Ruling Class that has lied to the American People
to the point where no one trusts anyone any longer, overthrow is a strong
possibility. But it won't be the Left that wins the day.
It will be the Fascists who ruthlessly will put an end to any hope of Freedom.

candidates. If he wins the nomination Trump will laugh his way to another 4
years.

What scares them is not the word. It's that if he won, that would mean
that he really would facilitate organizing the people to remove the
advantages that the corporations and the billionaire have. And once
people began to organize and realized that they had power and could
change things, they might truly change the system.

I'm reminded of the old radio/TV sitcom, The Life of Riley. Chester A.
Riley was fond of saying, "Don't confuse me with facts. My head is
made up".
And so it is with the Democratic Establishment. Bernie is not acceptable.
It's that pesky word, "socialist" that scares them.
Socialism is okay when practiced by the Establishment, rewarding one
another with posh military contracts. But let's not get crazy and
pass the goodies around among the Working Class.
If being a Democrat or Republican means that you take the Party line
and follow your Party's orders, then I'm a Socialist. If being a
Socialist means that I must stand alongside my fellow Workers, and
fight together to improve our share of our nation's wealth, a wealth
we helped to create, then I truly am a Socialist.
Your Socialist friend, Carl Jarvis, still trying to get through to the
Democratic Party that I quit! You don't want my vote, because I vote
like a Socialist! If you don't want Bernie Sanders, then you sure don't want
me!

Sanders Pulls Further Ahead of Buttigieg in New Hampshire Poll By Jon
Keller, CBS Boston
10 February 20
his New Hampshire primary has been a rollercoaster ride, with one
last hairpin turn in the final night of the exclusive WBZ/Boston
Globe/Suffolk University tracking poll.
Bernie Sanders appears to be cementing his hold on first place with
27 percent, while Pete Buttigieg, who had surged into a virtual tie
with Sanders as the week ended, in second with 19 percent.
And Amy Klobuchar continues her momentum from last night with a 14
percent showing, good for third place. However, she is still within
the poll's 4.4 percent margin of error of Joe Biden and Elizabeth
Warren, who placed within a fraction of each other in fourth and
fifth place.
In addition to these statewide numbers, Suffolk has also been polling
the city of Dover, a so-called bellwether community that has
foreshadowed the statewide order of finish in the last three
contested Democratic primaries.
And their response to our poll seems to confirm the statewide trend.
The Dover polling has Sanders and Buttigieg closer together,
finishing first and second within the 5.6 percent margin of error of each
other.
But running solidly in third is Klobuchar, an also-ran in our poll
all week who has seemingly picked up steam off a widely-acclaimed
debate performance Friday night.
Joe Biden came in fourth, just barely ahead of Elizabeth Warren, both
within reach of Klobuchar but with a showing that has to be a
disappointment for both of them.
"This is the first time all of the survey is post-debate," notes
David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research
Center.
"Whether Klobuchar's spike is temporary remains to be seen. Sanders'
improvement comes in two areas: the West/North region - the four
counties that know him best - and people torn between him and Warren.
If Klobuchar were to finish third or fourth, she's going to knock
someone into that fifth spot, a real dire place to be for Biden or
Warren."
Of course, the only poll that really matters is the one in the voting
booth on Tuesday, so get out and vote and then watch your vote count
with our special primary night coverage starting at 8 p.m. on TV38
with a full wrapup on WBZ News at 11.
The exclusive WBZ-TV/Boston Globe/Suffolk University tracking poll is
a two-day rolling sample of 500 likely New Hampshire Democratic
primary voters.
