Points all well taken.
The only thing we can hope for is that the Donald was telling us some big
lies when it comes to the social issues. After all, for much of his life, he
was pro-choice. Was he telling lies to court the votes of the religious
right?
AS I continue to ponder this mess, the worst part of a Trump presidency
might be that he is not likely to veto the nastiness that a Republican
Congress will put on his desk. On a personal level, my biggest fear is what
will happen when the AHCA is repealed? Before the AHCA, we had a similar
plan in Massachusetts. I have already been on the phone to my progressive
friends in the State House to urge that they be prepared to step in and put
something similar in place when the AHCA is repealed. It seems to me, the
biggest problem with the AHCA is that it shafts folks who earn, let's say
betwene $40,000.00 and $70,000.00. above that income level, I'm not as
concerned about affordability.
I do see one silver lining here. When republicans are in the White House,
progressives become much more passionate about their issues. For example,
lots of folks railed against Bush's military policies. Obama continued and
even expanded some of these policies and the silence of many on the left in
response was often deafening.

Bob, you've omitted the whole corporate Democratic establishment, John
Podesta in particular, who has smoothed the way for both Clintons while
running a lobbbying shop with his brother, Tony, on the side, and the media
who should be sued for the malpractise of journalism. Hillary's only crime
is that she's been a very ambitious woman and has taken advantage of every
opportrunity which presented itself in order to improve her financial and
political prospects. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is just one of Hillary's
handmaidens. I am totally shattered that we will have a President Trump,
but I also feel a tiny sense of satisfaction that Hillary hasn't gotten her
way. However, I'd prefer that she had won because I suspect that the
remainder of my time in this world will be a living hell, if not personally,
although that may be true given what Paul Ryan will do to social security,
medicare, and medicaid, then vicariously because I'm going to see a rollback
of everything we've achieved in terms of civil rights and alleviation of
poverty in the past 60 years..

I'm feeling ill as well, but it's not physical, it's emotional.
I am feeling within me a deep and disturbing hatred for the following:
1. Stupid people who really believe that Trump will make life better for the
majority of Americans.
2. Debbie Wasserman-schultz for rigging democratic primaries against Sanders
and in favor of Clinton. Will she be returning to Congress next year? What a
farce.
3. Hillary Rodham Clinton for making the dumb-ass decision to run for
president. She's a horrible campaigner, a walking freezer unit, crooked as
the letter S and maybe even incompetent. Obama didn't' just win in 2008
because he is an accomplished speaker. There was then and still is today
very little passion or enthusiasm for Clinton. Hillary, your legacy will be
a roll-bac of progressive policies and women's rights. Part of me is even
glad that you're not the first woman president.
4. Most of all, Donald Trump for ratchetting up fear and hate with the
diabolical skill of an accomplished media marketer.
