 Misconduct In Public Office In The Assange Case

Julian. Their hearings were about Julian seeking asylum at the Ecuadorean 
Embassy in 2012, which meant that he had not complied with his bail conditions 
relating to earlier hearings. Under UK law, you do not have to comply with your 
bail conditions if you have a good reason. When Julian asked for asylum, it was 
based on the risk that he could be extradited to the US. The Ecuadorean 
authorities accepted this as a reason for granting him asylum. This is 
self-evidently a reasonable excuse for not complying with bail conditions.

 Peru’s Youth Have Mobilized In Indignation

impeach former president Martin Vizcarra on November 9th, installing Manuel 
Merino of the Accion Popular party, as head of state for the 5 months left till 
the country’s general elections.  The Peruvian left are not supporters of 
former neoliberal president Vizcarra, but have condemned the impeachment that 
has been carried out by forces even further to his right, “The new government 
has named Ántero Flores Aráoz as president of the Council of Ministers, he is 
the best representative of the old politics: conservative, far-right, racist, 
sexist, a few years ago...

 First Nation To Launch Lawsuits For Damages Against Fishers


By Michael Tutton, National Observer. Canada - A Mi'kmaq First Nation that 
encountered violence after it opened a self-regulated lobster fishery says it 
will launch a series of lawsuits against non-Indigenous fishers for alleged 
damages incurred by its members. The band also intends to file a constitutional 
challenge against a provincial law that has prevented the band from selling its 
lobster catch, Ron Pink, the lawyer for Sipekne’katik First Nation, said 
Thursday. "We're pursuing injuries to individuals and disruption to their 
fishing by certain individuals," Pink told a news conference at the band 
office.

of control. The worst-case warnings of public health experts have come true. A 
quarter-million people are now dead. Over the past month, the number of daily 
new cases has tripled. On October 13, there were 51,000 new cases in the United 
States. On Friday, there were a staggering 182,000 new cases, up from 162,000 
the day before. In the country’s manufacturing heartland, home to the factories 
that have become hotbeds of the disease, the situation is even more dire.

 Proud Boy Attacks Send Several To Hospital In Critical Condition

Washington, DC, to build popular support for a Trump-led coup. The 
demonstration was organized as a “Stop The Steal Rally,” which promoted 
far-Right conspiracies that Trump actually won the 2020 election in a 
landslide. Among those protesting was the far-Right street gang the Proud boys, 
QAnon supporters, neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic activists like Jason Kessler, Baked 
Alaska, Vincent James, and Jovi Val, white nationalist “Groypers” led by Unite 
the Right marcher Nick Fuentes, and conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones.

us not to raise serious issues during the campaign for fear that Biden would

recognize Biden's 'victory'. I see it all as a circus distraction - Trump will 
leave office and Biden will enter and while the governing style might change a

 UAW Workers At Johnson Controls On Strike

Controls facility in Hopewell Township have been on strike since late 
September, seeking an increase in pay and flexibility with using vacation time. 
On Thursday afternoon, UAW Local 1872 workers gathered at tents along 
Renaissance Drive, not far from Interstate 83, for a rally. Arthur Westerfer, a 
test lab operator, shouted messages through a megaphone toward the massive 
building. "If you do not give us a contract, you will not retain your 
operators, let alone your trainees," he shouted. "... You are going to lose all 
of your experience."
