Experiments In Free Transit

pandemic, some localities have taken the impressive step of implementing free
transit. Several cities in Ohio, including Akron, Canton, Toledo and Youngstown
announced free fares as of March 16. Towns in Vermont and Nevada have done so
as well. Unfortunately, local officials are quite clear that these are only
temporary for health purposes and will be reversed once it is “safe.” Over the
last several decades, though, many cities around the world have experimented
with free transit.

Time For Unions To Give The Democratic Party An Ultimatum

with AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka to talk up unions. At this point in
his political career, Biden can do these things in his sleep. His well

single-use plastic. We’ve been winning that war. More and more consumers are
carrying reusable bags for groceries and other shopping items, asking

using fewer plastic straws. Homeowners are even rethinking and replacing
plastic PVC (polyvinyl chloride) in everything from home siding to piping. As

University Of Michigan Asks Court To Halt Graduate Student Strike

University of Michigan President Mark Schlissel is seeking an injunction to get

from David Attenborough’s documentaries over the past seven decades. In a new
BBC film he lays bare just how perilous the state of that nature really is, why
this matters for everyone who shares this planet, and what needs to change.
This film is radical. Surprisingly radical. I have written in the past about my
growing frustration with Attenborough documentaries continuing, decade after
decade, to depict nature as untouched by any mark of humans. I felt this might
be contributing to unhelpful complacency about how much “wild” was really left.
