Throwing a rench into the e-mail idea, you will have to lessen the file size
down a little in order to e-mail it. Most e-mail accounts do not, as a
rule, handle large attachments. I'm coming slightly late into this debate
so am not familiar with the file type or size issue. But, is this a
Kurzweil file? Or is this a RTF file? Or is this file different
altogether?

Another option is to e-mail it to volunteer@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with a note saying
that Carrie offered to take a look at it for you and help see if there's a
problem with the book. It sounds like there probably is if it's 17 MB. It
may only be that the file contains graphics which will need to be removed
before it can be uploaded.
Handling it this way would allow Carrie to help without making the staff
uncomfortable. It would still go through Gustavo, but he would know

Email the file to me (ckarnos@xxxxxxxxx) and I'll see if I can upload it
from the office. If there are still problems, I can go talk to the
engineering people and they can take a look at it right there. I'll need
your Bookshare username and password, in order to upload it though.... If
you're nervous about disclosing that info, you can change your password
temporarily, let me upload the book, and then change it back after
everything is resolved. Or another option is to email the file to Gustavo
and ask him to upload it for you.
