Sometimes the title page is in such large print that it doesn't scan.

  Your choice.  If you want to delete identical pages, fine.  (The ones where 
the only line is the title of the book, right?)  Please keep the real title 
page with title, author and usually publisher.

  Good. How many title pages should be included? All of
  them? Usually there are two or three identical ones
  before the main text, I've found.
