I guess you don't know anyone who was helped over the edge from reading suicide 
supportive text or people who feel eating disorders and other related material 
support their choices. And what about Columbine and other kids whose minds were 
poisoned and dark sides deepened by what they read.  And if you do not think 
reading contributes to teen pregnancy and poverty, you are quite wrong.  I know 
many people who when they read suggestive things they did not understand, so 
they decided to explore and experiment without knowing the repercussions, were 
not equipped to deal with the aftermath.

Reading can both broaden a mind or narrow it.  I have seen both.  That is why I 
support guidance for young minds with removable barriers with proper supports.
