Well, we don't want to lie. If a page contains nothing but an image I suppose it should be noted rather than called a blank page when it is not, but for all the information it conveys to me it may as well be called a blank page. If there is no description then the announcement that an image is there does me no good. That is why I prefer descriptions. At the same time, though, sometimes pictures are put in a book just to give it some bulk. That is, if there were no pictures it would have been better to have published it as a pamphlet. In a case like that the pictures really don't contribute much to the book at all and describing them could be just a distraction. On the other hand, one person's idea of relevant material might not match another's idea of relevant material. So, all in all, I think I prefer descriptions to no descriptions. Still, though, I know that can present some big problems for some volunteers, so I am also quite tolerant of no descriptions.

Hi Roger and everyone! In "Goodbye Mr. Chips", when I scanned that, some of the pages contained images. I stated that that was so as I would indicate a blank page. Of course, I can't see to describe the images, so that was all of the information I could give. I did that to keep the page count accurate.Debby At 06:22 PM 5/24/2010, Roger Loran Bailey wrotePersonally, though, if nothing about the photo is going to be provided except the fact that there is a photo then I don't feel like I need that information at all.-- mailto:<the.bee@xxxxxxxxxxx> --Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don't have.
