I use emodicons, because they are short and sighted people I wrote to
used them. I sometimes wonder if screen reader users are missing them.
I fixed that problem for myself by adding them to my screen reader's
pronunciation dictionary. I would encourage other screen reader users
to do the same, so they don't miss out. :-) Sometimes a wink or a smily
makes all the difference in meaning.
