Hi Gail and others,

That long dash is a real problem. It doesn't read right when it's there, at least on my reading setup it doesn't. I have always wondered just what to do also. It does need to show some kind of break there, but those two dashes doesn't do it either. I wonder if a comma or semicoln would be correct there and how one could put it there with the find and replace setup. The book I am currently reading and about to send in has a bunch of those long dashes also. Gail has been very conscientious about validating my last book. I thought I had it pretty clean but she found several things that I had missed.

When I replace the long dashes with -- they are announced.
When the sentence reads it doesn't sound like a pause or anything. Am I supposed to do womething else to indicate so if this is what long dash or -- represents?
For example carry-- far.
