Hi all,Oh, please, let's not go the PDF route! PDF's are tricky at the best of times and unless you know what you're doing, they can be absolutely unreadable. The reason RTF is used is that it retains the formatting of the original document, and it is convertable to BRF directly without going through a second level of conversion. As for the conversion to DAISY, an RTF file with its tags for formatting, is more easily converted to XML. Before making suggestions like this, please consider that the majority of volunteers wouldn't know a PDF file or how to make one if you asked them. Creation of PDF's is a technically advanced proposition, and, frankly, is used way, way, too often by sighted idiots who don't know what they're doing. Compound this with folks who are blind and cannot see the images which they are scanning except via the voice of a computer, and you've got a recipe for disaster! Please, no PDF's, please!!
