I have heard thaqt even after training it is very slow to read with an ooptacon.

From your question, it sounds as though you are not familiar with the
Optacon. If that is the case, you might not want to buy it. I don't know
whether it is possible to get much use out of it without training, but I've
never heard of anyone who did.
