Very useful comments ya'll. Thank you.

Quick response: Mayrie is right that the intent with the "Go Back" links is to
be able to target subsections and hop back out to the TOC and that many formats
will be available to suit different ways of using the document.

Sneak preview: Our in-house goal is to have the manual submitted for processing
as .RTF, .PDF, .BRF, and DAISY on Monday August 16. Target for posting on the
wiki and in the Bookshare library is the following Monday August 23

Keep the comments and conversation coming. It can only make the document better.

Mayrie, Thanks for your comments.
It's just that since I want to read through Section Four in its entirety to
make useful comments, I'm finding that I spend more time navigating around than
I do actually reviewing the material.
I'm very glad that the manual will ultimately be available in more usable
formats.
Thanks again.
Lori

Hi Lori,

Yes, I agree that this version of the scanning and proofreading manual is more
cumbersome to navigate. That said, I did notice that there are "go back" links
in subsections. That is helpful for folks only wanting specific information,
but not so helpful if an entire view of the manual easily is desired. And,
also, that said, when the manual is offered as rtf, daisy, etc once it's
finished, everyone's needs will be better met, I think.

I think that here, patience will serve us very well.

Mayrie

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Navigating the Online Manual

Hi, Everyone,

Am I the only one who finds this online manual that we are reviewing this week
to be extremely cumbersome to navigate?
I am reviewing Section 4 about Proofreading, and whenever I complete reading
one small section, I wish there were a link that said "next" so that I could
just proceed.
Am I missing some simple way to read through this document subsection after
subsection?
I am not a novice at reading documents with links and other internet materials,
but this manual prompts me to feel like a total beginner!
Any thoughts appreciated.
